Description
Now is the time to join one of the top non-profits of its size in Oregon.  As a job training/employment team member, your role will be to engage, advise, serve and facilitate a jobseeker’s service experience and address their needs through WorkSource Oregon resources and programs which will lead to job training and placement opportunities. The ideal candidate will not only be able to work with jobseekers but will work closely with all the team members and WSO partners to keep an open line of communication on all services provided to jobseekers. The Ambassador will also ensure the coordination of all program-related orientation and workshops events.

This position is key to SCB achieving its annual work-based training and placement outcomes. The Ambassador has two overarching responsibilities: 1) maintaining relationships with WorkSource Oregon partners to provide a seamless pipeline of jobseekers to employment opportunities; and 2) effectively matching jobseekers with appropriate available services.

Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

Carry out all below-mentioned tasks across online platforms including but not limited to voice, outlook, zoom, social media, messaging and email.

Triaging and Right Servicing

  • Provides friendly outreach and assistance. Advises on the best route for a customer to receive the desired WSO services and initiates follow-up as necessary.
  • Guides jobseekers through WSO’s host of career and jobseeker resources.
  • Renders motivation and emotional support to jobseekers undergoing employment-related challenges.
  • Conducts career profiling, intake interviews and assessments to holistically understand jobseekers’ needs and challenges.
  • Conduct the initial pre-screening with clients to determine their eligibility for the program.
  • Be up to date and make referrals to a variety of public and community agencies providing food, shelter, clothing, medical, educational and other services.
  • Recommends jobseekers to suitable career interventions and programs resulting in scheduling of next steps with a Career Consultant or Workforce Specialist.

Orientation Services

  • Acts as a resource support to jobseekers needing assistance with MyWorkSource.
  • Starts Jobseekers on the Career Readiness Certificate.
  • Understands and accurately presents WIOA eligibility requirements to diverse audiences.
  • Contacts eligible clients to invite them to attend the weekly orientation and workshops in order to become active WSO participants.
  • Conducts individual and group orientations for job seekers.

WIOA Program Support

  • Maintains a positive and professional relationship with all WSO Partners, SOWIB and SCB Staff.
  • Acts as a liaison by facilitating regular communications between WSO Partners, SOWIB, and the SCB workforce team on a daily basis.
  • Tracks jobseekers progression from new lead, to a working lead, to a qualified lead with enrollment documentation collected and uploaded into eDocManagement.
  • Uploads results of career profiling, intake interviews, participant barriers, assessments and employment goals into eDocManagment.
  • Attends regular staff meetings.

Provide Labor Market Information and Job Placement

  • Assists in job-matching and job referrals for jobseekers to achieve job placement targets.
  • Provides up-to-date information on labor market trends, occupational insights to address jobseeker’s needs.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, with related work experience preferred in job development, case management and/or sales and marketing or any acceptable combination of experience and training which demonstrates the ability to work with youth and adult participants, as well as, WSO Partners.

Successful track record of achieving and exceeding performance targets on a regular basis.

Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, zoom, social media, and ability to quickly learn and understand new systems, software’s, and platforms.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to relate to people from various socio-economic backgrounds.

Ability to work within a team while maintaining high individual performance standards. Must have ability to organize and prioritize efforts.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Knowledge of employment and training programs, especially Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act.

Fluent in English and Spanish oral and written communication
