Responsible for answering phones, dispatching drivers, maintaining database for scheduling client transportation, as well as, operate transit vehicles. 

Typical Examples of Work for Driver
  • Safe, courteous operation of multi-passenger Dial-A-Ride buses.
  • Operation of 2-way radio.
  • Accepting cash or ride tickets from riders.
  • Maintaining accurate daily logs and other records
  • Assisting riders, including mobility-impaired riders to access vehicles.
  • Safe and correct operation of wheelchair lifts.
  • Conduct daily vehicle maintenance checks, and report findings to supervisor or dispatcher.
  • Daily removal of litter and light cleaning of vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned that would benefit the Corporation.
Typical Examples of Work for Dispatcher
  • Answer phone, provide information about services, and schedule rides.
  • Insure that adequate driver coverage is available daily.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair for fleet at direction of Transit Manager.
  • Operate 2-way radio to communicate with drivers.
  • Complete trip tickets for all dispatched rides.
  • Maintain current passenger database.
  • Money handling including ticket sales, credit card processing and processing deposits.
  • Data entry utilizing scheduling software, word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Other duties as assigned that would benefit the Corporation.
Qualifications
  • Good customer service experience with excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems.
  • Must hold valid Oregon driver license, prefer CDL with passenger endorsement.  
  • Operate fax machine, multi-line telephone, and computers with Word and Excel software.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.  Two years of post-high school training or work experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
DMV and criminal background checks performed.  Drug screening in accordance with Federal Transit Administration and Federal Department of Transportation required
